The charming 17th Century Country House Hotel situated between the picturesque villages of Ilam and Thorpe can offer you and your guests beautiful scenery and views of outstanding natural beauty for those all important pictures.

As a wedding location in Derbyshire, you are hard pressed to find a more ideal location. The hotel is located close to major road links and is just 1 hour from Manchester, Birmingham or Nottingham; and 2.5 hours from London.

The Izaak Walton Hotel is well equipped for any size and design of wedding you require. The hotel has a selection of licensed rooms for civil ceremonies overlooking the view of Thorpe Cloud, and rooms for your reception which can hold up to 120 people.

Our dedicated Wedding Co-ordinator will be pleased to offer you advice and guidance to assist you in making your wedding day the most memorable day of your life.

Numbers

We can comfortably cater for up to 80 persons for a civil ceremony and wedding breakfast. For wedding breakfasts only we can cater for up to 100 guests.

Children

Children up to the age of 12 years taking half portions will be charged half price. For young children from babies up to 8 years, we can offer a children's menu and charge accordingly.
High chairs and booster seats are available.

Drinks Package

We would recommend you offer each guest one drink during the drinks reception (you should also consider guests who would prefer a non-alcoholic drink and children). It is also considered standard to offer your guests two glasses of wine during the wedding breakfast and a glass of champagne for the toast drink.

Accommodation

It is requested that should you hold your evening function at The Izaak Walton Hotel, a minimum number of 20 bedrooms are reserved for a minimum of two nights. The Hotel boasts 35 well appointed bedrooms all with en suite facilities, a welcome tray, Sky television, trouser press and hair dryer. Your guests will have a choice of standard, family, executive or deluxe bedrooms.
We are delighted to offer a complimentary executive bedroom to the Bride and Groom, when holding a wedding breakfast of a minimum of 60 guests.
Accommodation is made available from 3.00pm on the day of arrival and should be vacated by 11.00am on the day of departure.

Charges

You will be given a quotation upon making a provisional booking. To confirm the wedding date, a deposit of 25% of the initial quotation will be required. A final invoice based on final numbers will be sent four weeks prior to the wedding date and is payable two weeks prior to the wedding date.

Wedding Services

Our Wedding Co-ordinator will be happy to recommend services such as photographers, florists, confectioners and toastmasters to you.

Additional Information

• A cake stand and cake knife will be available for use.
• The Hotel can provide place cards, menus and a table plan should you require them in a choice of two colour schemes (white & silver or cream & gold). A small supplement charge will apply.
• The Wedding Co-ordinator will be present to assist you on your Wedding Day and will co-ordinate the entire day.

Marquee hire

The Hotel is delighted to offer the possibility of a marquee facility in the grounds. The marquee hire will be co-ordinated by the Hotel in close liaison with the Bride and Groom and all charges will be agreed before confirmation of the marquee hire is made. The marquee is available for evening receptions only.
